So...I have been training for a marathon for about 5 months now. A week ago, I thought I might not be running due to some severe pain in my left leg. After a few tests, it was determined that I have a really really bad shin splint (they thought maybe I had a stress fracture, but the tests were inconclusive). So the good doc cleared me to run, but told me I should try not to do much running until the race. He recommended riding bike or an elliptical machine. I have opted for the exercise bike route because I don't have to pay for a gym membership to use one of those. I am very thankful that I will be able to run the race and that there is only one more week of riding the bike before the race.
If you need something to do next Saturday morning (April 4th) you can come cheer Monica and I on. The race starts at 8am and we will finish sometime between 12 and 1. We really aren't doing it for time...we just want to finish. And I will be sure to let you know how it goes...after I recover.

The Things We See
You wouldn't necessarily think that we would see exciting things in Washington Boro, but oh how wrong that is...especially if someone in your family has anything to do with farming. We get lots of Turkey Hill trucks, milk trucks, trash trucks and other traffic going by our house on a daily basis. We also see and hear a few trains go by. The other night while we were eating dinner we had the pleasure of watching a load of combines go down the train tracks. This is not an odd occurrence in the spring and summer months, and even though we watch them go down the tracks every year, you just never know how many it will be at one time. Sometimes we just watch them go by, but more often than not Neil will start counting how many the train is carrying. On this particular evening there was a total of 82 Red Combines going down the tracks. Pretty Cool!

The Big Reveal
The dining room has been finished for a couple of weeks now, and I am finally getting a chance to show you what it looked like BEFORE (at Christmas time)....

And what it looks like now AFTER.... all the long hours of hard work. We love it and are so pleased with how it turned out. It makes it feel more like our home. Enjoy the pics!
