Punkin' carvin' with the fam!

Oh how blessed I feel after an afternoon and evening spent with family! Last year we started a tradition of carving pumpkins together and sharing a fall meal...it is lots of fun! And it gets more fun the older my little nieces get. Oh the creations we have yet to see from them! I really should call it pumpkin decorating because not everyone "carved" this year. I got some finger paints and they were enjoyed by more than just Eliana. Here are the pictures from our time together. Thank you to my fam for being a part of my life and your willingness to be a part of my fun ideas, you guys are the best!

Best Buddies

McCormick, our dog, and Polly, our newest addition, have become fast friends. It is so nice to see them sharing, fleas that is. Polly has been battling fleas for a couple of months and for the most part she wasn't really into the dog but in the last couple of weeks she has been buddying up to him, so now I guess I will have to treat them both for fleas...yipeee! Actually it is good to see them getting along it is more than can be said for Polly and Diesel, our other cat. Diesel still can't hardly be in the same room as her without picking a fight, oh well!

Fall Centerpieces

I had the privilege of doing flowers and centerpieces this year for our pastor appreciation lunch at church. They were a lot of fun to do and I am pleased with how they turned out. I especially like the way the pumpkins with the gold paint on top look...a great yet simple and relatively inexpensive centerpiece when you are on a budget. Enjoy the pics!

My sister Cheryl and I are preparing to do a 12K the end of October, so yesterday we did a practice 5K and my friend and faithful running partner, Monica, joined us. We had fun, it was a beautiful day and we all did really well. I am proud of you girls!

Lampeter Fair Flowers

Once again this year, Jenifer and I entered flowers at the Lampeter fair for Eve's Garden, where we both work. Jenifer won best of show with the funeral tribute she created. She really does a beautiful job! Here are the pictures of the arrangements we entered.

OVERSIZED LOAD

We have the pleasure of living right along the route that the steam generators took to get to TMI. The day they went past we were priviledged to have some of our family and lots of neighbors and other people, with nothing else to do that day, come and watch all the fuss.
The whole process was quite incredible and the size of these things...WOW...they were huge. I think the most humorous thing for me that day was seeing that they had a car(2nd picture) that state that there was an "OVERSIZE LOAD" coming. I found that quite ironic...because if you had listened to the news on the radio, tv, whatever, in the last couple of weeks you knew it was coming and also the "car" was preceded on the road by an entourage of vehicles taking up both lanes, and not to mention the flocks of people lined along the road. I am pretty sure that the "car" wasn't really needed. Well my irony was crushed by the little bit of "blondeness" in me, I realized later the car was actually serving a purpose that I didn't notice at first, it had a vertical pole attached to the front to make sure all the wires were high enough. Even so...I don't really think it needed to advertize that there was an OVERSIZE LOAD coming...but that's just me. I am also including a link to the video Neil posted on facebook. Enjoy!

Sunflower Patch

One day a couple of weeks ago, my dad and I went to look at his 1 acre sunflower patch. These are a few pictures I took. The flowers were so beautiful with the sunlight shining through the petals making them look really cool!

Etown Fair

Here are a couple of pictures from our trip to the Etown fair this week. My little nieces are growing up so fast!

"Wow Mom, this is a cool goat, can we get one?"

Eliana wasn't into the petting zoo so much or at least not the petting part.

We did enjoy a little ride on the ferris wheel, which I think she thought was cool.

Beach Bums

About a week ago the girls spent the day at the beach. Here are a couple of pictures from our day. My nieces are growing up so fast...Eliana seems more and more like a toddler these days and Abigail is really blossoming, smiling and developing her own sweet personality. We had a great day together and I can't wait until next year when both girls are a little bigger. Thanks sistas for spending the day together!

Awesome View

Two of the nights while in NH we stayed at a great B and B. This was the view from our bedroom window. Mt Washington is 1/3 of the way in from the right on both of these photos about 40 miles in the distance. Pretty Cool!
